Use this guide to install the MyVideo.Email Chrome Extension, grant permissions, and send your first video faster.
What the Extension Does #
The extension helps you:
- Record video from your browser
- Generate/copy video email snippets
- Insert snippets into supported email/CRM compose windows
- Send/track using your connected integrations
Before You Install #
Make sure you have:
- A MyVideo.Email account
- At least one active integration connected in the app (/integration)
- Google Chrome (latest version recommended)
Step 1: Install the Extension #
From Chrome Web Store (recommended) #
- Open the MyVideo.Email extension listing.
- Click Add to Chrome.
- Confirm installation.
Developer Mode (Load Unpacked, internal testing) #
- Open chrome://extensions.
- Enable Developer mode.
- Click Load unpacked.
- Select the extension folder.
- Pin the extension to your toolbar.
Step 2: Open and Sign In #
- Click the MyVideo.Email extension icon in Chrome.
- Sign in with your MyVideo.Email account credentials.
- Wait for the extension to load your account state.
Step 3: Grant Camera and Microphone Permissions #
- Click Enable Camera in the extension.
- If prompted, allow camera and microphone access.
- Complete the permission helper flow if a permission tab opens.
- Click Finished (if shown) to return to normal extension use.
Success Check #
You should see camera preview/device options and be able to start recording.
Step 4: Confirm Integrations Are Active #
Before sending/tracking, verify at least one active integration exists:
- In the web app, go to Integrations.
- Confirm Google/Microsoft/Keap shows as connected.
- If none are active, connect one first.
Step 5: Record Your First Video in the Extension #
- Open the extension popup.
- Choose camera/mic devices.
- Click Start Recording.
- Record a short intro (30–60 seconds).
- Stop and save.
Step 6: Insert/Send Your First Video #
- Open your supported compose window (email/CRM).
- Use the extension to generate/copy/insert your video snippet.
- Send through your connected provider.
- Confirm the message sends and tracking is available.
Troubleshooting #
“Permission dismissed/denied” #
- Re-click Enable Camera and approve prompt.
- Check Chrome site permissions for camera/mic.
- Close other apps that may be using camera/mic.
Extension says no active integrations #
- Connect at least one integration in /integration.
- Refresh extension state after connecting.
Can’t access extension features #
- Your organization may have extension access disabled by Owner/Manager.
- Contact your account admin.
Not seeing expected behavior after updates #
- Reload extension in chrome://extensions.
- Sign out/in again.
- Re-test in a clean Chrome profile if needed.
Best Practices #
- Keep Chrome updated.
- Use a dedicated microphone for cleaner audio.
- Record in short takes with one clear CTA.
- Test insert flow once per provider (Google/Microsoft/Keap).
