Chrome Extension Quick Start

Use this guide to install the MyVideo.Email Chrome Extension, grant permissions, and send your first video faster.

What the Extension Does #

The extension helps you:

• Record video from your browser
• Generate/copy video email snippets
• Insert snippets into supported email/CRM compose windows
• Send/track using your connected integrations

Before You Install #

Make sure you have:

• A MyVideo.Email account
• At least one active integration connected in the app (/integration)
• Google Chrome (latest version recommended)

Step 1: Install the Extension #

From Chrome Web Store (recommended) #

1. Open the MyVideo.Email extension listing.
2. Click Add to Chrome.
3. Confirm installation.

Developer Mode (Load Unpacked, internal testing) #

1. Open chrome://extensions.
2. Enable Developer mode.
3. Click Load unpacked.
4. Select the extension folder.
5. Pin the extension to your toolbar.

Step 2: Open and Sign In #

1. Click the MyVideo.Email extension icon in Chrome.
2. Sign in with your MyVideo.Email account credentials.
3. Wait for the extension to load your account state.

Step 3: Grant Camera and Microphone Permissions #

1. Click Enable Camera in the extension.
2. If prompted, allow camera and microphone access.
3. Complete the permission helper flow if a permission tab opens.
4. Click Finished (if shown) to return to normal extension use.

Success Check #

You should see camera preview/device options and be able to start recording.

Step 4: Confirm Integrations Are Active #

Before sending/tracking, verify at least one active integration exists:

1. In the web app, go to Integrations.
2. Confirm Google/Microsoft/Keap shows as connected.
3. If none are active, connect one first.

Step 5: Record Your First Video in the Extension #

1. Open the extension popup.
2. Choose camera/mic devices.
3. Click Start Recording.
4. Record a short intro (30–60 seconds).
5. Stop and save.

Step 6: Insert/Send Your First Video #

1. Open your supported compose window (email/CRM).
2. Use the extension to generate/copy/insert your video snippet.
3. Send through your connected provider.
4. Confirm the message sends and tracking is available.

Troubleshooting #

“Permission dismissed/denied” #

• Re-click Enable Camera and approve prompt.
• Check Chrome site permissions for camera/mic.
• Close other apps that may be using camera/mic.

Extension says no active integrations #

• Connect at least one integration in /integration.
• Refresh extension state after connecting.

Can’t access extension features #

• Your organization may have extension access disabled by Owner/Manager.
• Contact your account admin.

Not seeing expected behavior after updates #

• Reload extension in chrome://extensions.
• Sign out/in again.
• Re-test in a clean Chrome profile if needed.

Best Practices #

• Keep Chrome updated.
• Use a dedicated microphone for cleaner audio.
• Record in short takes with one clear CTA.
• Test insert flow once per provider (Google/Microsoft/Keap).
