Video Recording Basics (Camera, Mic, Screen Options)

Use this guide to record clean, professional videos quickly.

Before You Record #

• Confirm camera and microphone permissions are allowed in Chrome
• Close apps that might be using your camera/mic
• Choose a quiet room with front lighting

Choose Your Inputs #

1. Open the recorder in MyVideo.Email or extension.
2. Select your camera device.
3. Select your microphone device.
4. If available, choose recording mode:
   • Camera only
   • Screen + camera
   • Screen only

Start and Stop Recording #

1. Click Start Recording.
2. Deliver your message (30–60 seconds recommended).
3. Click Stop.
4. Save/upload the recording.

Quality Checklist #

• Eye contact with camera
• Clear audio (no clipping/background noise)
• Stable framing and lighting
• One clear CTA at the end

If Recording Fails #

• Re-run permission flow
• Switch camera/mic devices
• Refresh page and retry
• Check troubleshooting article for recording/upload issues
